Many of you may be wondering how on earth we do it, day in and day out. I am not going to lie to you it can be hard sometimes to find that SPARK that pushes you to just do. There are times where I even have to ask myself why is it that my motivation is just outside my grasp. Well, truth be told, the answer to this is quite simple. You have to remind yourself to start paying attention to you.
Let me explain.
We are no different than the most successful person to ever exist. We all may sit back and say to ourselves that they have to be wired differently or that they were given a leg-up in life. But I can tell you that this is so much farther from reality than you can ever imagine. We all have the same 24 hours, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. How we use this time is what sets us apart. In order to understand this we have to individually tackle our own individual mindset. We need to start tapping into the creative center of the brain that many of us often shy away from. Once we start to do this then we will begin to see the fruits of our labor.
So how do we do this? The answer here is to find a work-life balance that works for your lifestyle. Here are a few ideas that I use that may help you as well in finding that needed balance - the balance that will inevitably ignite the inspiration needed to keep pushing forward.
Journaling and Making Lists
No matter what the thought is, write it down. Keep a running list of thoughts and journal what’s on your mind. As humans, our brains can only process so much at once. Using this tool it helps to clear the mind of the chaos that ensues daily and grants us the opportunity to determine our true high/low priorities.
Switch it up
A great way to jump start the day is to switch up your scenery, do something or set-up shop at a different local cafe or even at the beach if you're lucky. Sometimes even going from working inside to an outside patio can be a world of difference to our mental bandwidth.
Get Active
Getting a good workout is a great way to alleviate the stress of our lives so that we can keep managing our lives. This is a great way to help give ourselves mental clarity so that we can focus on the important things each day.
Silent Mode
Dedicate a block of time every day to turn off everything. Cellphones, Laptops, Tablets, TVs, etc. are very distracting. Taking a moment to just silence your space helps to rid your mind the unnecessary noise these things create. It gives you time to just think and meditate.
Be Selfish a little
It is perfectly ok to put you first. As a mom I have learned that I cannot give my family the love and care they need if I am burned out completely and stressed. A peace filled and organized me leads to an organized family.
Getaway and Relax
Plan out small getaways not only for self recharge but even if its just a day out of the house to just have fun and relax. Go to a park, the beach, or if your fortunate enough go to the lake. Just grant yourself permission to deviate from the planned schedule once and a while to just let loose and chill out.
Read, Read, Read
This is a little more self explanatory. Reading is fundamental in keeping yourself inspired to tackle organizing the chaos in your life. And no I don’t mean only ready organization books, that would be utterly boring. What I mean is read books and articles on anything and expand your interest overall. One of the greatest organization steps I have adapted in my life with managing my family and all my business ventures was actually derived from a snippet from a cookbook I read years ago. I will share more on this in a later post. But the point is that inspiration can come from anywhere, so open your mind and expand your horizons.
Create daily routines for mornings and nights
Here is a trick I learned from studying some of the most successful people on the planet, that actually works. Having specific tasks to do in the morning, ie. journaling, exercise, chores, affirmations, etc; and tasks to wind down in the evening, ie. tidying up, bubble bath/shower, wearing PJs, etc. truly help with establishing a base to manage your day to day.
These are just a few ideas I have used that have helped me immensely with building a solid foundation to get my life on track to truly live the way I want to live. I hope that these help you as well. And yes let share with us any ideas you have that you have had success with or that has helped you find inspiration.
Until next time.
