Vitamin D and Hair Growth
Vitamin D keeps the bones and skin healthy and, in recent years, it’s also been linked to hair growth. Vitamin D, has the potential to help “wake up” follicles that have become dormant. Hair loss happens when the hair follicles are constantly dormant. Getting enough vitamin D daily can help in the process of rebuilding damaged hair.
Vitamin B and Hair Growth
B-complex vitamins are essential for healthy skin and hair because it can help strengthen and condition hair. B-vitamin complex nutrients can be found in a variety of sources, including:
whole grains
vegetables such as cauliflower, carrots, and dark leafy greens
meat such as beef liver and poultry
eggs
soybeans
nuts
avocados
legumes
All of the B vitamins are water soluble and can be found in supplement form as well. They must be taken in daily.
Vitamin E and Hair Health
Vitamin E has long been recognized for its ability to improve your skin and hair health. Potent antioxidants called tocotrienols are found in vitamin E, and those tocotrienols contribute to a healthier scalp. These supplements also helped prevent hair loss. It’s easy to incorporate vitamin E into your diet by eating wheat germ, spinach, kale, and even almonds. You can also apply vitamin E oil directly onto the skin or scalp to help speed up cell regeneration if topically applied.
Giving special attention to these nutrients through taking a daily multivitamin formulated specifically for hair, skin, and nails or through diet will result in having strong healthy locks and hair overall. Some other things to keep in mind;
Cut back on using gels, blow-drying, and brushing your hair when it’s wet.
Lower your stress by exercising at least 30 minutes per day.
Drink 6-8 glasses of water per day.
